Hair Transplant

With today’s advances in cosmetic surgery, there is no reason that women or men should suffer from thinning hair and baldness. Surgical hair restoration (technically called follicular unit hair transplantation or micrografting) provides safe, natural looking results with little to no downtime or recovery.

What is micrografting?

Micrografting is a procedure in which a small donor strip of your hair is taken from an area of healthy, full growth. Dr. O’Brien microscopically divides this hair to individually transplant follicles to replicate the way your hair naturally grows.

The technique is performed in stages, customized to your individual conditions, requires only local anesthetic, produces nearly undetectable scarring, and results in healthy, naturally restored hair within six to twelve months.

Am I a candidate for micrografting?

Men and women of many different circumstances may be candidates for micrografting, as baldness is a common hereditary occurrence, especially among many men. Micrografting is the most advanced technique to restore your hair to a natural appearance, making many men look younger and gain more confidence.

What can I expect from micrografting?

Micrografting, performed on an outpatient basis is a process. Over possible several treatments and with time, usually within six to twelve months, you will see a full head of hair. Scars will result at the donor site, however they are well hidden in the hairline. The location of your donor site will be discussed during your consultation with Dr. O’Brien.

Results are long lasting, however over time you may elect more transplants because the aging process naturally thins hair.

How long is the recovery from micrografting?

Micrografting requires only local anesthetic, but you may be given oral sedation for your comfort. Recovery varies by individual, but most individuals return to daily activities the day following the procedure.
