If a traditional liposuction procedure isn’t for you, VASER Liposuction is a simple, minimally invasive liposuction procedure that can be performed in Dr. O’Brien’s office, while you are awake or under general anesthesia.
How is VASER Liposuction performed?
First, the area to be reshaped is filled with a tumescent saline solution. Next, a small probe transmits the ultrasound energy, loosening the fat cells from other tissues so they can be gently removed through a small tube through a gentle suction process.
Depending on the number of areas being treated, the procedure can take as little as one hour or up to several hours.
What body areas can be treated with VASER Liposuction?
If you are frustrated by the resistance of certain body areas to diet and exercise, VASER Liposuction may be the solution. If you are healthy and seeking a fast, minimally invasive way to lose stubborn fat deposits, the VASER Liposuction procedure could be your answer.
Dr. O’Brien has experienced great results in treating all of the following areas:
- Jowls, chin and neck
- Abs, hips, or love handles
- Male and female breasts
- Back, buttocks or thighs
- Knees, calves or ankles
How long is recovery from a VASER Liposuction procedure?
Patients wear special compression garments to help skin contract smoothly to the body’s new contours. A short period of rest (typically 12 hours) is recommended, followed by two to three weeks of general recovery when strenuous activities should be avoided.
Results are immediately noticeable after the VASER Liposuction procedure and will continue to improve as the body heals. Final results are typically seen in about three to four months.
