Add-On Treatments

At St. Petersburg Center for Plastic Surgery, we offer a wide variety of add-on treatment for those undergoing a HydraFacial. It is very common for many of our patients opt to combine an additional treatment with their HydraFacial. The most common add-on treatments include dermaplaning, BOTOX, dermal fillers, and skin resurfacing. Combining these skin rejuvenation treatments can provide radiant results.

Dermaplaning may be our top add-on treatment as it is a nonsurgical procedure that carefully removes dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach-fuzz hair) with a specialized cosmetic tool. The benefits of dermaplaning include an increase of cellular turnover, smoother skin texture, and improved absorption of skin care products. The treatment is also very quick and requires no downtime.

HydraFacial Candidates

HydraFacials are meant to be effective for women and men of all skin types and ages. The process can be personalized to fit your unique goals. Complexion problems that can be treated with a HydraFacial are:

  • Sun or brown spots
  • Infrequent or chronic acne outbreaks
  • Reduced skin firmness or elasticity
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Congested or large pores
  • Oily or greasy skin
  • Rough texture
  • Dull or uneven tone

HydraFacial Technique

HydraFacials will be done in one of our private treatment rooms in around 30 – 45 minutes. The process will start with an initial consult to decide the best options for your HydraFacial. After your plan is developed, you may lie back in a treatment room as your procedure starts. HydraFacials use six basic parts: cleaning, exfoliation, extraction of the pores, moisturization, a nourishing serum, and long-lasting skin protection. These parts are personalized to the needs of your skin by selecting the best cleanser, exfoliation method, serums, moisturizers, and any other needed products. Your HydraFacial may be customized further by adding on another skin treatment like a chemical peel.

HydraFacial - What to Expect

You will probably notice improvements to your skin right after your treatment, with final results developing in several days. To maintain the improvements to your complexion, Dr. O'Brien suggests these treatments once a month. In your initial consultation, we will schedule ongoing appointments and talk about a home skin care routine to nourish your skin between professional treatments.

HydraFacial FAQ's

How much does it cost?
The cost of a HydraFacial will depend on your unique treatment plan and skin type. A single HydraFacial offers stunning results but if you'd like to maintain the health of your skin, then routine visits will be needed, which will also affect the costs. During your initial consultation, we can examine your skin and review your goals to estimate your costs.

How often should I have one?
HydraFacials are typically performed 4 – 6 weeks apart but traditional facials can be performed in between your HydraFacial visits. Many of our patients receive a HydraFacial once a month to help maintain healthy, glowing skin.

A chemical peel or HydraFacial?
Both chemical peels and HydraFacials offer great results but both treatments are different. A chemical peel is more intensive than a HydraFacial and typically requires some healing time. With a HydraFacial, you can return to your usual activities without worrying about skin peeling. During your consultation, we can discuss the benefits of both treatments and which one may be best for you.

Personalize Your Facial

With multiple professional and home facials available, it can be difficult to choose which one fits your skin. The HydraFacial gives you control over the products in your treatment, adjusting every step to customize your results. At St. Petersburg Center for Plastic Surgery, we strive to provide customized attention to all of our valued clients. This procedure is a perfect example of our devotion to our clients.
